Media Use in Classrooms

Question

I spoke with someone from StatsCan and they suggested that I contact you directly. We are conducting a study on the use of MEDIA (Audio Visual, Internet etc) in classrooms (i.e primary, secondary and post-secondary). We would like to retrieve information on the number of teachers in Canada (per province if possible), that have access to some form of media technology (i.e.
projectors, LCDs, etc..) The person from StatsCan suggested that you contact the Education Department from StatsCan and ask them for this information directly.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Answer

Our education contacts have confirmed that the most recent data they have on this topic is published in "Computers in the classroom: Opportunity and challenge" in Education matters. September 2004. Number 3. (http://www.statcan.gc.ca/pub/81-004-x/200409/7017-eng.htm). They indicated that this publication is based on data from the 2003-2004 Information and Communications Technologies in Schools Survey (ICTSS).
