Question
I have a researcher wondering about the following:
Table 2.2 in the 2003/2004 files - do these numbers exclude foreign students? or are they included? In some of the following tables foreign is listed separately.
Answer
My contact in the Education Division confirmed that foreign students are included in the numbers for Table 2.2 of the 2003/2004 SED files.

UCASS and SED
Question
I have a researcher who is VERY interested in obtaining some custom tabulations from both the UCASS and Survey of Earned Doctorates. How would they go about doing this?
Also - is there any historical data available through DLI for the SED?
Answer
For custom tabulations, I can have an account executive contact you or your
researchers directly. Would you like me to arrange that?
As for the SED, there is data for 2003/4 and 2004/5 available under the
"Education" folder on the DLI FTP site and website. However, according to
the Daily there was a release of 2002/3 data as well. I will ask our
Education consultant whether they can provide us with that data and keep you
posted.

Survey of Earned Doctorates
Question
A faculty member at Malaspina would like to use microdata from the Survey of Earned Doctorates (number 3126). Is there any chance of getting these data through the DLI?
Answer
The survey did not produce a PUMF for this file, the sample size was too small. The division suggests using the RDC if someone wants to use the file.
