Is data from the 2012 Aboriginal Peoples Survey comparable to data collected in other surveys, including the 2006 Aboriginal Peoples Survey?

The 2012 Aboriginal Peoples Survey, or APS, questionnaire used many of the same questions that had been asked in previous cycles of the APS and in other Statistics Canada Surveys. However, due to a number of differences in methodology between the 2012 APS, previous Aboriginal Peoples Surveys and other Statistics Canada surveys, comparisons of data between sources should be undertaken with caution.
