Question
I have a request from a grad student who's looking for SK birth stats by census division. She's been able to find CANSIM tables containing that data, but they're based on a July to June (half of one year and half of the following year) time frame and she'd like to find data that's based on the calendar year instead. So far I've drawn a complete blank.
Answer
Our contacts have confirmed that the only way to get births statistics for Saskatchewan for census divisions by calendar year would be via a custom tabulation (with a minimum cost of $350).This being said, they also indicated that due to data quality issues, they are not currently in a position to produce these tables. They are however making some changes to their coding and expect to be able to provide sub-provincial level data in the future. They expect to be able to start releasing sub-provincial data once again this summer.
I hope that this information is helpful.
