Tuition Costs by Institution

Question:
A researcher is looking for recent (2016/17 and 2017/18) data from Tuition and Living Accommodation Costs (TLAC). Stats Can has released summary tables from the latest survey, but they only list costs by province, and she needs it by institution. I was able to locate data from 1993-2015 in Odesi but nothing from the past two years. Are there plans to release a PUMF for the latest years, and if so, when?

 there are no PUMFs planned for TLAC data.  From subject matter: “We don’t produce any PUMF for TLAC, only standard tables.”

Now, the years your request caught my eye.  I just released the 2017/18 data* last week and sent a notification to the list.  Odesi are able to extract the tables for their users and release through their channels.  The data has been available since October 5th 2017 on the FTP site.

Downloading from EFT during times of strife

QuestionWhat are people doing re: licence when you are downloading data that would normally be freely available through the STC website? Are you just giving it to researchers without having them sign a licence (assuming it's not a PUMF or one of the other files that have its own DLI licence)?

I've got a researcher who wants the TLAC and I think I should just be able to give it to her, right? It feels weird not to have her sign a licence because I'm grabbing the files from the EFT and in the olden' days we used to have users authenticate for everything.

With respect to the TLAC aggregate data, this would fall under the Open data licence agreement. The DLI licence stipulates that:

6. Authorized users shall be made aware, by my educational institution, of the conditions of use of the data by being provided with the appropriate licence as outlined in a, b, c and e below:

a) With a few exceptions, those governed under separate licence agreements as appendices,; the majority of our standard and custom products will be disseminated under the terms and conditions of the Statistics Canada Open Licence Agreement (see: http://www.statcan.gc.ca/reference/licence-eng.html).

Ontario tuition fees for the past 20 years

QuestionI can find them in CANSIM, in a number of tables, but they all only go back to 2006/2007, yet TLAC goes back to 2000/2001. Any clues as to where the earlier data might be? And are there any sources prior to 2000?

The client just needs to go to the link below(IMDB) that you provided and select by clicking the related products and select the Free CANSIM tables. We have the weighted average tuition fees by Canadian and International by graduate/undergraduate and by provinces
