The 2011 Census Dissemination Project is pleased to announce the official release of the Preview of Census Products and Services, Catalogue no. 98-300-XWE.
The Preview of Census Products and Services represents the first official product released for the 2011 Census. It provides a complete overview of the proposed products and services that will be disseminated based on the results from both the 2011 Census of Population and 2011 Census of Agriculture. Information (where applicable) will include major characteristics and content, 'What's new?' in comparison to 2006, levels of geography, availability/delivery methods, release timeframe and pricing.
The 'Preview' will be updated periodically as details regarding products and services become finalized.
As of 8:30 a.m. (Ottawa time) on September 21, 2011, this product will be available in HTML and PDF (print-friendly) formats via the 'New products and studies' link within The Daily. Users can also access it from the census web module. From the Statistics Canada home page, click on the 'Latest census data' link under the 2011 Census header. The Preview can then be accessed either through the 'Census news' spotlight entry or through the 'Preview of Products and Services' link in the left-hand sidebar under the 2011 Census header (http://www12.statcan.gc.ca/census-recensement/2011/ref/preview-avantgout/index-eng.cfm). Eventually, this product will be permanently stored under the upcoming 2011 Census 'Reference materials' link in the left-hand sidebar of this page.
